What we do

AHSW is an organisation that responds to the needs of its members and the Sector as a whole.

Based on information from the research of the Sector in 2005 and research carried out since the launch, the following services are provided.

Website

This website has been developed to enable members and others to access and share information, as well as to promote the organisation and arts and health work across the region.

The site has a range of features including a directory of AHSW members, a map of the region to facilitate finding projects, local networks and arts and health practitioners.

Working in Partnership with others

AHSW works with regional and local networks and organisations to deliver joint events, share information and advice, promote training and other professional opportunities and to avoid duplication and promote efficiency. If your network or organisation would like to work with us in partnership please contact AHSW’s Director, Alex Coulter.

Meetings and sub-regional networks

AHSW provides support and networking opportunities through regular regional meetings, and encourages the development of sub-regional networks. As sub-regional networks are established they will be represented on the AHSW website’s regional map. The aim is to create semi-formal links through regular exchange of information and representation on AHSW’s Board of Trustees.

Directory and e-bulletins

There is an on-line Directory of AHSW members. You can search the Members Directory via Advanced Search

Resources

The Case Study section includes a range of case studies of projects in the South West. If you have a project or programme that would be suitable for a case study please complete this template and send it to the AHSW’s Director, or contact her to discuss. 

The Fact Sheets section has fact sheets produced by Arts & Health South West. We will be developing this section further over the next year,

The Other Resources section includes resources from other sources such as reports, toolkits and links.

Continual Professional Development / Training

AHSW:

  • Signposts members to appropriate training
  • Encourages mentoring and skill-sharing
  • Develops links with training providers
  • Where appropriate works with relevant agencies to commission specialist training

Enquiries Service

AHSW has an enquiries service for anything concerning arts and health in the region.  Call if you need help or advice on 01392 793877. The office is manned three days a week (Wednesdays-Fridays 9:00am - 5:00pm).
