AHSW Annual Conference & AGM 2017

Friday 24th November 2017
Watershed, 1 Canon's Rd, Bristol BS1 5TX

A Bristol-based arts and health conference with a packed programme of keynotes, workshops and performance. An opportunity to hear inspiring and practical insights into what's happening with Social Prescribing and engage with arts and health work happening across the South West.

Alex Coulter will introduce the findings from Creative Health, which will set the context for the day.

Dr Richard Kimberlee, Senior Research Fellow at the University of the West of England and regional lead for the Social Prescribing Network, will then speak about the regional picture for this fast developing area of practice.

We will then hear from Sue Moss, Public Health Principal at Bristol City Council, about the work going on with social prescribing across the City. In the afternoon you will be able to experience how the Bristol Arts on Referral team deliver arts on referral as part of the city’s social prescribing offer.

Continuing the theme, we are delighted that Viv Gordon will be performing PreScribed (a life written for me), which explores the side effects of being a GP navigating an NHS in meltdown.

We will be showcasing regional work from across the South West with 10 minute Provocations and there will be further information about local work available via display stands.

If you are interested in submitting an idea for a Provocation please email Alex at alex@ahsw.org.uk or if you would like to book a display stand, email Hannah at info@ahsw.org.uk

The programme will also include Arts & Health South West's 2017 AGM. Details of the AGM including an agenda and accounts will be sent out to members by 1st November.

Exact start and end times are currently TBC, depending on the finalisation of other elements of the programme. Estimated start and end time is 9:00 registration for 9:30 start - 4:30pm finish.
