Joie de Vivre - exhibition of photographic images from Pavilion Dance South West
20 February - 20 March 2017
ArtCare at Salisbury District Hospital (main corridors level 4), Odstock Rd, Salisbury SP2 8BJ
This exhibition features beautiful and dynamic images, taken by photographers Kevin Clifford and Matt Austin, of mature dancers which have been reproduced as a touring exhibition to be shown on the corridors of Salisbury District Hospital until 20th March.
Pavilion Dance South West is genuinely excited about the burgeoning field of interest in creative dance and dance for health and wellbeing work with older people.
They believe that dance can make a unique contribution to the health and wellbeing of older people. It involves music, creativity, exercise, social interaction and touch - all of which contribute to making a person feel better or happier at the end of a session than they did at the beginning!
In addition, there are an increasing number of professional older dancers who have maintained their fitness levels and love of dance and enjoy performing.
In 2016 they updated and republished the leaflet "Creative Ageing". It highlights a sample of the excellent dance programmes being delivered across the South West. These beautiful and dynamic images, taken by photographers Kevin Clifford and Matt Austin, of mature dancers have been reproduced as a touring exhibition to be shown on the corridors of Salisbury District Hospital until 20th March.
