Learning about dance and Parkinson s

People Dancing and Dance for PD have created an online learning programme designed to help dance practitioners gain some of the background knowledge needed to provide dance sessions for people with Parkinson's.

Comprised of eight units, the course gives learners information about the medical condition, the effects of symptoms and medication on dance class participants, advice on conducting a risk assessment, safe practice, class structure and design, adaptations and teaching techniques. The interactive programme includes video clips, research reports, plus text and audio resources. This 8 unit programme is available for £65. The first four units of the programme are now available.
