Artisan Studio need urgent help to find new premises in Bournemouth
Artisan Studio, a thriving community art studio committed to using art to improve wellbeing, have been given 4 weeks notice from Bournemouth Council to leave their current premises, and need urgent help with finding a new space from April 2017.
Artisan is a thriving independent art studio in Bournemouth offering a wide range of interesting, enjoyable, high quality, affordable courses in arts, crafts, textiles, which are open to everyone.
Artisan passionately believe that visual art expression is for everyone and that creativity improves personal wellbeing. They support individuals and groups through a person centred, humanistic approach. They see this approach as a way in which individuals can develop their own sense of self, explore personal ideas and express thoughts and feelings using a variety of art media.
Artisan studio were about to be given 4 weeks notice by Bournemouth Council to leave their current premises as the council want to turn it back to a day centre. Artisan have appealed and have been granted an extended period of 2 months notice, and need to use this period to find a new home.
The last studio session will be Friday April 21st. The studio will then be packed up the following week on Monday 24th, Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th. Artisan need as much help as possible packing up the studio.
At the moment Artisan do not have new premises to move into but are working hard to identify opportunities. If an appropriate space is not identified by the end of the April, this important community group may have to close until they can find something suitable.
Artisan is committed to continuing to provide its service and will work hard to do so. All weekday courses will continue but weekend sessions will be limited.
