The future is looking bright for the Award Winning 44AD!

Last month 44AD Artspace triumphed at the Bath Life Awards by winning the coveted Arts category award.

Last month 44AD Artspace triumphed at the Bath Life Awards by winning the coveted Arts category award. The Bath Life Awards have been running at the prestigious Assembly Rooms for many years and see the people of Bath coming together for a huge celebration of the best of the city.

This fantastic recognition, voted for by a panel of nine independent judges is a sure sign of a more secure future and of even bigger and better things to come for 44AD.

Alongside the wonderful news of the Bath Life Award, and another great example of how local independent business’s can join forces to support each other, Bath based Minerva Art Supplies have recently signed up as 44AD’s first major sponsor for 2017.

Minerva is not only loved and valued for their treasure trove of art supplies and friendly staff, but also for their commitment to supporting the artistic and creative community of Bath and beyond:

"Bath has a great artistic community, lively ,enthusiastic and varied. At the centre of this fantastic energy is 44AD, where Artists have an amazing facility as a work space , to collaborate with others and exhibit. For recent graduates the gallery provides an affordable platform for their work with great support from the team. Well done 44AD, we are proud to be associated with you".

Further sponsorships are open to local businesses with various levels of support available. All packages offer fantastic, unique benefits and the opportunity to be associated with a now Award Winning Artspace!

44AD is now currently preparing to convert from a community interest company to full charitable status. This will direct a more confident and sustainable future, allowing for wider access to fundraising and will also help in the discussions with Bath Council relating to securing a fair long term lease.

Background

Set in the centre of Bath, opposite the Roman Baths themselves, 44AD is an exciting and enthusiastic melting pot, which encourages creativity and strives to showcase the artistic talents of today. Bath is well known as a popular tourist destination and is home to a huge number of creative businesses, but rents are high and hence spaces for recently established artists are very limited.

44AD provides essential affordable gallery space and studios. Working alongside local organisations, charities and educational institutes such as Bath College, the 44AD team have worked tirelessly to promote and support the importance of contemporary arts and it’s accessibility as part of the wider arts, creative and cultural ecology in Bath.

In just a few years, 44AD has become one of Bath’s leading contemporary visual arts venues.

Each week at 44AD offers something different. And, by the high volume of weekly return visitors, it seems to strike a good balance. 44AD's ethos is that art should be free and accessible for all to see and explore, so why not go along and check out their latest exhibitions and events.

Bath College are holding their annual Love2Learn exhibition at 44AD from 29 March - 01 April 2017. The title of the exhibition is PALETTE and features an exciting array of work selected from the many Love2Learn creative courses that take place at the college. The Private View will be held on Friday 31 March (6pm - 8pm) and all are very welcome to attend.
