hArt to begin pilot programme for children affected by domestic abuse

The programme is funded by Children in Need, and taking place in Dorset. This will be led by a fully qualified art psychotherapist who will be training another qualified therapist to run the same programme.

This training has been funded by the Safer Dorset Fund, awarded by the office of the Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner.

This will enable hArt to deliver the programme at other locations when funding is in place, and having two trained therapists able to offer this programme will enable us to present this opportunity to more participants.

hArt (Hampshire Art for Recreation and Therapy) is a charity (Registered Charity No. 1158996), established in 2014, that helps change the lives of adults and children with mental health and wider social issues. They believe that through creative therapy and a range of professionally structured activities, we can help everyone feel better, build confidence and allow their self-expression to shine through.

hArt works with adults with mental health issues and children and young people in need of early intervention. We also offer help to those living with dementia, their carers and wider support networks, and can tailor-make programmes for a range of challenges and needs.
