Include Art Exhibition - Submissions Invited
Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre is inviting submissions from artists with lived experience of isolation, mental health issues or disability, or whose work explores or challenges these issues, for a forthcoming exhibition. Deadline: 27 March 2017
The exhibition entitled Include Art will be co-curated by local artist, Christian Straker.
This opportunity is open to both professional artists and those who may have never exhibited their work before. Pauline Smith who runs Tacchi-Morris’s exhibition space said:
"This exhibition is a great opportunity for artists. Over the years our exhibitions programme has grown significantly and at the core of this has been the inclusive nature of the programme. We have had some truly remarkable artists and groups including an exhibition developed by The Somerset 1 in 4 Steering Group and Oliver Hellowell, an inspirational photographer with Down Syndrome. We are very grateful to Clarke Willmott for their support of this project."
To apply or find out more please email Pauline at: email@example.com
If you would like to be part of the exhibition please send:

- 2 JPEG images or a link to images online

Include Art is part of a wider initiative running at Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre showcasing a programme of some of the UK’s finest inclusive arts companies in Taunton: including Hijinx Theatre, a company that features a professional cast of actors with and without learning disabilities; StopGap Dance Company, a joint cast of disabled and non-disabled dancers and Viv Gordon, AHSW Award winner who presents a piece of dance theatre exploring mental health.
Include aspires to reduce the stigma around ageing, mental health and learning disabilities through presenting real-life stories and upholding role models who are proudly different to our cultural stereotypes and use their life experience to create brilliant work.
This exhibition is timed to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week.
Exhibition Dates: 9 May - 12 June 2017 with an opening reception for exhibiting artists on 9 May 2017 at 6:30pm.
