It is important to provide evidence to support the delivery of arts and health work. Funders, commissioners, partners and participants may all require evidence of health outcomes, of the cost effectiveness of the project and/or of the benefits to participants. The emphasis is on measuring outcomes and it is important to both research the available evidence and to have robust plans for the evaluation of your work. We have produced a Measuring Outcomes Fact Sheet to help you plan your evaluation, which you can find in the Resources section of the website.
In Research we include those studies that have been peer reviewed and published. We include research projects as downloads where they are publicly available or provide links to other sites where we cannot access the full document. Some research is only available as an abstract and it is necessary to subscribe to the relevant journal in order to access the full document.
In Evaluation we include evaluation reports that have been made available publicly but may not have been published in journals etc.
In Journals we include specialist journals related to arts and health.
All the research and evaluation included here has been tagged with the categories in Advanced Search. If you are looking for policy documents, national strategies, reports or briefings these can be found in the Other Resources section of the site.
We are developing this area of the website and will be adding new research and evaluation regularly. If you are aware of any research or evaluation, or relevant journals, we should include here please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
