Still Curious Project Coordinator (Christchurch)

The successful candidate will deliver the Heritage Lottery funded, Still Curious, a 2 year project that will increase access to the local heritage in Christchurch, for over 1200 people with dementia and their carers. Deadline: Monday 21stJanuary 

Salary:

£ 26,030 pro rata

Location:

Red House Museum, Quay Road, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 1BU

Hours:

14.8 hours a week

Type of Contract:

Fixed term

 

The project will develop new public participatory activities designed around the needs of people with dementia. 

You will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the following key strands of the project, to time and budget:

  • Develop boxes of museum artefacts suitable for handling during conversation led workshops 
  • Develop, promote and programme a new fortnightly ‘Museum Memory Café’ in the newly refurbished ground floor activity space
  • Develop, promote and programme, in partnership with Christchurch and East Dorset Borough Council, a new Dementia Friendly Heritage Health Walk 
  • Develop a team of 12 trained volunteers to deliver the ‘Still Curious’ programmes through a structured volunteer training programme. 

This is an exciting position responsible for coordinating Still Curious. You will be the key point of contact and keep track of all of the logistical arrangements, take part in recruitment and selection of facilitators, organise meetings, workshops, activities and events. You will keep health & safety, finance and administration on track and report to the Project Manager.  

You will have an understanding of or experience of working with vulnerable adults / adults with disabilities and carers. You will be energetic, highly organised and self-motivated.  You will be required to travel around Christchurch
